P.E.
Outdoor PE: Wednesday
Indoor PE: Monday
The children do need to bring their P.E kit into school and will need to bring this in for every lesson. If your child is unable to remove their own earrings then they should be removed in the morning before school or plasters will need to be sent in with your child so that they can cover their earrings before PE. Children with long hair will need a hair tie for P.E.
FOREST SCHOOL
Tuesday
Forest School is on a Tuesday afternoon. Children are encouraged to wear their Forest School clothing to school on a Tuesday (including a long sleeve top, long bottoms such as leggings or tracksuit bottoms and suitable footwear) and bring a change of footwear for the rest of the day.
HOMEWORK
The children will be given homework booklets for Maths and English each week on a Friday, which are to be completed and handed in by the following Tuesday. If your child finds any particular task really challenging and you have had to give a lot of assistance, please send a message on DOJO and we will be happy to support.
A weekly spelling assignment, linked to the weekly spelling pattern, will also be put on Ed Shed (Spelling Shed) for the children to complete. In addition, we ask that children keep practising their times tables regularly on Times Tables Rock Stars. The more your child practices their spelling and times tables, the better they will become at both.

READING
At Whitehill, we want children to develop a love of reading. You can help at home by listening to your child read and encouraging them to read every night. The more they read, the more they will become confident and fluent at reading. Boom Reader is a digital reading record which allows you to log your child's reading activity.
